Stepping out?
Things have been rather busy at 15 Central Park West of late. Just last week, there was that roughly $30 million sale of a three-bedroom belonging to Tyler Ellis—daughter of Perry—to Brazilian billionaire Marcel Herrmann Telles. And now, according to Brown Harris Stevens’ website, a pair of ninth-floor units last listed with the brokerage for $29 million have entered contract. When things are busy at 15 CPW, they are, often enough, busy for Kyle Blackmon, who had both listings—and who also owns a condo in the building. (Central Park West provides a rather lucrative home-court advantage for Mr. Blackmon; he currently has two additional co-ops in contract at 88 CPW, last listed for $9.15 million and $8.75 million, respectively.)
The newly-contracted “Limestone Jesus” condos would seem to belong to distinct buyers—Naps Holding Inc. and Napo Properties Inc.—but given the similarity of those names, the joint sale structure and the fact that the entities use the same law firm, indeed the selfsame lawyer, to conduct business, we’re going to guess that the seller of both apartments is the Mexcian businessman and former top lieutenant of Carlo Slim, Fernando Chico Pardo, who, according to House of Outrageous Fortune author Michael Gross, bought the larger of the pads in 2010 for $12.4 million. (He picked up the other the following year, it would seem, for $9.25 million.)
Staying in.
For a time, Mr. Pardo rented the three-bedroom, which formerly belonged to 12 Years a Slave screenwriter John Ridley, Mr. Gross told the Observer, though it’s unclear how much time he ever actually spent in the building; among the business heavy’s professional interests is an airport operator in southeast Mexico, so flitting from here to there likely does not cause him excessive consternation. Should the new owners choose to combine them, the condos will team up for five bedrooms and 4,077 square feet, with an additional 3,088 square feet of private outdoor space, including the largest terrace in the building.
Said new owners remain for now unknown, and we will not trouble you here with the usual litany of 15 CPW’s absurd stores of luxury. But suffice it to say, they’re in for something really, really nice.
